Installing to a Windows 2003 server from a Mac 0S X client without activating AFP.
There are 2 ways to log into a Windows 2000 and 2003 Server from an OS X computer: AFP and SMB; where AFP is the Apple Standard. If you do not want to turn on AFP on your server you will need to do the following:
Create a new user that has read only access to the DynEd folder on the server. They must also have read only access to the Launch folder and all sub folders. In the data folder the user must have full access (read, write, create, execute, and delete.). This seems to allow more than one user to run the products. They will need another login that will allow full access to the DynEd folder if they want them to change the admin password or run UpToDate.
Again, "Read Only access to the DynEd folder (and all sub folders), but full access to the DynEd:Data folder". These rights must be set on the server using the Windows control panels.
