Internet connection unreliable

The Internet connection in my lab is slow unreliable.
Setting up a "Scheduled task"

This applies to Internet Records installations where there is a slow or un-reliable Internet connection.

THE IDEA:

• A student is allowed to study off-line for up to X Days or Y Study hours without connecting
  
• Once the student connects, their study records are synced and they can then study for another X Days or Y Study hours without connecting
  
• Students who have never studied before, must connect the first time that they study.
  

Option 1
In the RM there is a function "Options->Sync All Student Records now"
When a teacher uses this, it does two things:

1. Syncs the study records for all students at that site, thus allowing each of them to study for another X Days or Y Study hours without connecting
   
2. Creates a blank study record for students (in their class) who have not studied before thus allowing the new students to study off-line even though they have never connected before.

Option 2

• You tell the students to always study off-line
  
• You setup a machine to run a Scheduled Task
  that does the following:
  
  1. Runs the Records Manager automatically on a regular basis. For example, it could be told to run every weekday at midnight (when the Internet connections are less congested)
     
  2. The Records Manager runs in a special mode where it
     logs in syncs all study records for all students at the school
     
  3. Logs out
  
  The result would be that:
  
• Students would never connect and thus students would never have a problem connecting
  
• Teachers using the RM would have the student's most recent study records except what was studied today.
  
• If students are not using up the bandwidth, then the RM would have more bandwidth
  

Note 1: You can add this line to the records.ini file to have the "view off-line: checkbox pre-checked for the teacher
view_off_line_default=y

Note 2: You can add this line to the records.ini file to have the "study off-line: checkbox pre-checked for the student
study_off_line_default=y
