1) The Progress Manager helps to show a student's progress by requiring students to take a "Confirmation Test" (or Pre-Test) each time a new set of lessons is unlocked by the Study Path Manager. When the student later qualifies and takes the Mastery Test (Post-Test) covering the same materials, the difference between the two scores can be seen in the Student Report.

  • You can turn the Progress Manager 'On' or 'Off' on the Class Options screen.
  • The default for new classes in 'OFF'. (Version 3.1)
  • The Progress Manager can only be used if the Study Path Manager is turned on:

 2) This is a typical scenario for the Progress Manager:

    • Students who take the Placement Test are asked to take a Confirmation Mastery Test (Pre-Test) for each core course they are studying. (They will most likely get a low score.)
    • Students study, study, study...
    • Students re-take the Mastery Test (Post-Test) when they qualify. (They should get a high score.)
    • The Study Path Manager will unlock the next set of lessons. Students will be asked to take another Confirmation Mastery Test (Pre-Test) on the new lessons that have just opened and so on...
    • To see a student's progress, the teacher runs the Records Manager and goes to Reports-> Class -> "Study Report" for students in this class... or The administrator runs the RM and goes to Reports -> Administrator -> "Study Report" for these classes...
    • They see a report showing the fields below:

MT-1: shows the student's average score on the confirmation Mastery Tests -- material they have not studied yet (should be low)

MT-2: shows the student's average score on the real Mastery Tests -- materials they have studied (should be high)

MT-DIF: (MT-2 minus MT-1) will show how much the student has progressed since they studied the material

3) If it is the end of the term and the teacher wants to force all students to take the appropriate Mastery Test (even if they have not qualified to take it) before she runs the report, she can use the menu option:

Options->"Force Students to Re-take the MT..." This will require students to retake the most recent Confirmation Mastery Test if they have studied more than 10 hours (of any course) since they first took that Confirmation Mastery Test.
